Sophie Villy

Sophie Villy is a Georgian/Ukrainian artist, singer-songwriter, composer and producer, whose discography contains three LP albums and several international movie soundtracks, selected for Cannes Festival Shorts, winning “Best Original Music” at several European Film Festivals. Her music, which is floating mostly around Trip Hop, Alternative Rock, Blues and Electronica, is well known for music lovers of BBC 2, KEXP, KCRW, the British Guardian listed her in the list of “must listen new artists from around the world”. Sophie fled Tbilisi after Russo-Georgian war in 2008 and moved to her motherland – Kyiv, where she started her musical career at the age of 18. Sophie won “Best New Artist” at “Phoenix Music Awards” in Tbilisi and was nominated for “Best artist” on Electronauts 2017.

After successful tours in the US and Europe, Album “Dress” won Album of the Year in Ukraine. She has been the only representative of UA and GEO at SXSW, which created fantastic audience on the US indie scene for her.

Her latest singles have been dedicated to Ukrainian people, struggling these darkest times, longing for freedom and peace.

Now She’s back to NYC, after tough years of pandemic and a full scale war in Ukraine, ready to tell her story through new songs from her upcoming fourth album “Clarity”  and inspire her listeners, who have been missing her these years.
